Beauty of geometry by javid_jalvandi

Azadi(Shahyad) Tower: Combination of elements of the architecture of Sassanid and Achaemenid eras, and Post-Islamic and traditional Iranian architecture. Built with white marble stone, it includes eight thousand blocks of stone. Built in 1971 in commemoration of the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire, this "gateway into Tehran" was named the "Shahyad" in honor of the Shah, but was changed to "Azadi" after the Revolution of 1979. It is 50 meters (164 ft) tall and completely clad in cut marble. via 500px http://j.mp/1xxg0d8
