The touch of time by Meezer3

I love our pleasant, quaint old Mill, It still recalls my boyish prime; ’T is changed since then, and so am I, We both have known the touch of time: The mill is crumbling in decay, And I—my hair is early gray. I stand beside the stream of Life, And watch the current sweep along: And when the flood-gates of my heart Are raised it turns the wheel of Song: But scant, as yet, the harvest brought From out the golden fields of Thought! via 500px http://j.mp/1uAc8ZJ

Homage to Georgia by beyondtheglimpse

This picture is dedicated to my favourite painter Georgia O'Keeffe, who's art was surely heavily influenced by photography, being the wife of Alfred Stieglitz. I found the effect reversed in me, as I feel highly influenced by her paintings. Especially her take on flowers egged me on to explore macro photography. I had a hard time choosing a category. It could be fine art as well as abstract, but the source was a stairwell, so I went for city & architecture. The shot was taken in one of the houses at the Mediapark in Cologne. via 500px http://j.mp/1mMK8zp

Bode-Museum Berlin by haenson

Press "M" to view in fullscreen mode The concept of the museum, which was originally called the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum, can be traced back to Crown Princess Victoria of Prussia, who published her ideas in a memorandum in 1883. It was Wilhelm von Bode who finally put these ground-breaking ideas into practice. In 1897, construction work began at the northern tip of the Museum Island on a museum that was to be devoted to the Renaissance, designed by Eberhard von Ihne. Once completed, the museum would bear the name of Empress Victoria’s deceased husband, Kaiser (Emperor) Friedrich, who died in 1888. When the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum opened in 1904, painting and sculpture, considered at the time as the ‘high arts’, were for the first time presented side by side on an equal footing with each other -- a presentation strategy that differed radically from that of traditional museums. via 500px http://j.mp/1tdU8yE
