I had the opportunity to travel to Florence back in April 2008. Like any other tourist destination in Italy, the Ponte Vecchio attracts its share of humanity. That morning in April was no different. The photograph above was taken on the north side of the Arno River looking south-west through the arched walk-way. The streets were extremely crowded that morning and there were hundreds of people walking down the archway and crossing in front of my camera. But I waited, waited and waited for the exact moment when the walk-way was clear of any people (Not exactly true. If you zoom into the very end of the walk-way you will see one person). Sometimes it's not what you photograph, but what you choose not to photograph that makes a good picture a better photograph. via 500px http://j.mp/1rLELju
