The Pyramid by MatthiasJanocha

San Francisco - the city by the bay. In the center of the photo, you see the Transamerica Pyramid, which is the tallest Skyscraper in San Francisco (853' height). Behind it to the right is Coit Tower and Alcatraz. On the left side of the frame, where the sunset lits the sky orange, is Golden Gate Bridge. I just love this view and think that it's one of the best vantage points for San Fran skyline photography. via 500px http://j.mp/1lnoNac

Transamerica Pyramid 2 - http://j.mp/1jbFQts by grantmurrayphotography

Transamerica Pyramid 2 - http://j.mp/1jbFQts View LARGE here: http://j.mp/1qSTKXs This is a 30 second exposure of the amazing Transamerica Pyramid building in San Francisco, California. The clouds were scudding over the building and I felt that using a 30 second exposure would give the sense of a flock of birds flying overhead, as I often see with Canadian Geese in Vancouver. I'm really happy with the result, as it turned out just as I had hoped. It's very gratifying when vision, composition and processing work in beautiful harmony :-) Happy Friday everyone. The techie stuff: Sony A850 D-SLR Zeiss 24-70mm Lens ISO: 100 Aperture: f/8 Exposure: 30 seconds Focal Length: 60mm Filters: Hitech Pro 10 stop ND filter and Lee 3 stop ND filter via 500px http://j.mp/1ivT7jI

Fly By by gentlone

This looks nice with the black background. It was a typical morning in San Francisco when we took off in the Huey Helicopter from the Presidio. Foggy early, then clearing later as the sun baked away the fog. This shot was taken with my Medium Format Film camera on transparency slide film. Not many shots get taken from a helicopter, but when you are in the military, flying is pretty routine. The fog held in the light and seemed to make the Golden Gate glow even brighter. Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful week. Photo Contest tomorrow. Thanks for your support and all your comments. via 500px http://j.mp/1eFtJqj

SF At Dusk by gentlone

One of my favorite cities in the United States! San Francisco. I took this shot at dusk. It was fantastic being stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco during my tour there with the Army. Public transportation was so great you didn't need to drive anywhere. I had a bus stop directly in front of my house and buses came every 15 to 20 minutes. If you enjoyed walking, which we did, you could walk right off post into the city and find any type of meal you wanted to eat. The pier was close enough to walk to as well. I could see the Golden Gate bridge from the porch of my home. Thanks for looking and have a great evening. Thanks for everyone's support. via 500px http://j.mp/1iLKYHM
