California, north, Sunset at Battery Point Lighthouse in Crescent City. Battery Point is an active lighthouse that still serves as a private navigation aid. It was first lit with oil lamps on December 10th, 1856. It also serves as the residence for the current light keeper. A tolerance for tourists is required and may be in the job description.
