La cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta è il Duomo di Spoleto (PG) - L'interno della cattedrale è in stile barocco ed è a croce latina, con tre navate di sei campate ciascuna, transetto, abside semicircolare e cupola senza tamburo a copertura della crociera. La navata centrale e il transetto sono coperti con volta a botte lunettata, mentre le navate laterali con volta a crociera. Sulla controfacciata, al disotto del rosone centrale, si trova una grande lapide commemorativa dei restauri del XVII secolo, voluti dai Barberini. Oltre la crociera, in asse con la navata centrale, vi è l'abside quattrocentesca, con i pregevoli affreschi di Filippo Lippi (1467-1469) raffiguranti Storie della Vergine. Al centro del presbiterio vi è l'altare maggiore in marmi policromi, opera di Giuseppe Valadier, affiancato da quattro alte colonne-portacero. Annessa alla cattedrale si trova la Cappella del vescovo Eroli, affrescata dal Pinturicchio (1497). - Duomo of Spoleto (PG) - The interior of the cathedral is in Baroque style and has a Latin cross, with three aisles of six bays each transept, semicircular apse and dome without drum cover of the cruise.
