Munich - Residenz - The Antiquarium. This lavish hall (1568-1571) was intended to house the collection of antique sculptures of the Bavarian duke Albrecht V, but was later transformed into a banqueting hall (1581-1600). The decorations (including allegorical figures by court painter Peter Candid and 102 views of towns, markets and palaces in the former Duchy of Bavaria) date from that time.
