De Braços Abertos by DaniloFaria

Statue exposed at 1/200, f13,Canon 7D with a Sigma 10-20mm, polarizer. Moon exposed at 1/320, f8, Canon 7D with Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM at 400mm. Blended in manually in Photoshop. I have been to Christ the Redeemer 5 times, and if you have been there you know it sits above the usually low clouds of Rio de Janeiro. I have always dreamt about the image of Christ the redeemer and the moon. The weather goes from blue skies to cloudy/foggy in a matter of 30 minutes, and this was one of those days. The sunset was promising but a massive fog covered the statue 45 minutes after this image was taken, you couldn't even see 20ft ahead. This specific day we were in Rio for the Brazilian National Soccer team playing Mexico for the Confederations Cup, memories that will last forever... via 500px http://j.mp/1lMC66H
