Tower Trails by TristanOTierney

I know this spot is a bit over done, but it's pretty amazing so it's hard not to get a shot of this scene when you pass by! This was one if my "HDR composite" shots. The scene is a set of 3 exposures processed in Photomatix, with the trails layered on separately using the lighten blend mode in photoshop. This looks nice with the black background. It was a typical morning in San Francisco when we took off in the Huey Helicopter from the Presidio. Foggy early, then clearing later as the sun baked away the fog. This shot was taken with my Medium Format Film camera on transparency slide film. Not many shots get taken from a helicopter, but when you are in the military, flying is pretty routine. The fog held in the light and seemed to make the Golden Gate glow even brighter.
