Another image from my Liverpool trip and this time from Liverpool ONE. A big shopping and leisure centre with lots to do and shops to look round. One other thing it is full of is loads of modern architecture and this cool looking stairway caught my eye.
The architects didn't need to design the staircase in this fashion as the escalators are there so in essence the staircase is surplus to requirements but without it something would be lost or missing. I just love the way all the lines juxtapose each other. This view does remind me of all the wonderful Escher artwork with staircases that I have seen over the years, there is something very similar going on here.
I chose to do monotone as I felt it bought out all the details within the stonework although I may do a colour version in the future at some point. via 500px http://j.mp/1Khl23k
