Sunrise over the Tagus by davidsooms

Even though it's a bit away from the city center, Parque das Nações makes for an interesting excursion when you're visiting Lisbon and are into architecture photography. I took this photo of the Ponte Vasco da Gama when I was there during an early morning walk on a chilly but sunny December day. This imposing cable-stayed bridge, which was named after the famous Portuguese explorer and spans the river Tagus to the north of the city, is currently the longest bridge in Europe. The other end of the bridge is hidden in the glare of a low standing winter sun. via 500px http://j.mp/1zIBaZA
