THE PASSAGE by BenoSaradzic

'THE PASSAGE' Mechanical architecture and industrial engineering are truly fascinating. Its raw design and aesthetics seem random, unintended and serve only its function. They are both hauntingly beautiful as much as foreboding, if not intimidating. To the staff working there, these magnificent spaces are nothing but a workspace. To the outside visitor however, they are an alien, undiscovered, mysterious world. I was in awe at the sight of the scale and immense complexity of this place. I am a profound admirerer of the human intellect and its physical dexterity which allows it to conceive and build the machines nearly as complex as its creator. We truly are special. Photographed with Canon 5D Mk3 and Canon TS-E 17mm f4.0L lens. I used GITZO GT5541LS tripod and Really Right Stuff BH-55 tripod. 7-stop HDR base image was triggered with Promote Remote Control unit. Pre-processing was done with Lightroom 4.1. 16-bit TIFF files were exported to Oloneo PhotoEngine for HDR tonemapping. Finished image was exported as a 16-bit per pixel TIFF image to Photoshop CC. Diffusion effect was achieved by blending individual bracketed exposures with the HDR base using luminance masks. Final grade was achieved with custom RGB curves. via 500px http://j.mp/1rbZx9J
