The Golden Nigth by ruizjc

I recently traveled to San Francisco to participate in a medical congress (the World Transplantation Congress) and I could not resist to try some shots of the famous Golden Gate bridge, so once I had finished the day in the congress I left the hotel and walked to that area. It was about 8 km far from the hotel (near Union Square) and I decided to go by foot and back to the hotel by taxi. First I went to Baker Beach from were I made the first photos and later walked in direction to the bridge arriving to the bridge edge near nine o'clock in the night. This shot was one of the last I made, it was darkening quickly and the last sun lights were still reflecting on the clouds. The lights of the bridge were already on and the atmosphere was warm and nice. The fog was entering from the sea (on the left) and you can see it over the mountains in the background. I used a 2-stop reverse neutral gradual density filter (Hitech) and as I forgot the filter holder in the hotel (yes, nobody is perfect) I had to use it with my hands. Hope you like it. When finished I tried to find a taxi but it was imposible and I had to go back to the hotel by foot in the night. I walked almost 23 km to take this photo but the experience was really nice and worth the effort. via 500px http://j.mp/1v4fTaK
