Canterbury Lightning Storm by stevemackayphotography

An image from some weeks back........Lightning storms like this are very rare in my parts :-) (Canterbury, Kent, UK), so when it started I rushed out to see what could be done.....my vantage point over Canterbury Cathedral is quite a distant one, so I used a 180mm lens to make Canterbury Cathedral look "big" and also used my star trail stacking knowledge to combine 4 images to create this image.........the Lightning is absolutely real (the camera didn't move, but the lightning strikes are a combination of 4 shots taken over approx. an hour). I used StarStax software to combine the 4 images.......in hindsight I think the 180mm lens has rendered the lightning far too wide/big.....what do you think? Thanks for looking, cheers! via 500px http://j.mp/1ntpkYh
