Zeughaus Mannheim by Boenig

The Zeughaus in Mannheim (Germany) was built in 1778 to house the Elector Karl Theodor's weapon arsenal. Without an Elector or a palatine army the beautiful building has been used as a museum for nearly a hundred years now. The Museum Zeughaus is part of the renowned Reiss-Engelhorn-Museums complex. From today's perspective it's nice to see classical architecture survive the centuries/world wars and to know of the peaceful present-day purpose. via 500px http://j.mp/1fTRtJa
