Shunie(Nara) by bwstwork

The scene is one of Water-Drawing Ceremony named "Omizutori(お水取り)". I visited Nigatsu-do Hall on March 13th. Omizutori is held on the night of March 12th with the waving of huge burning torches on the terrace of Nigatsu-do Hall. This is a part of Shunie(修二会)(religious service known as monks' ascetic train ritual) performed for two weeks(I st - 14th)at the Nigatsu-do Hall of Todaiji temple. The Buddist priests pray for peace of the nation and a rich harvest. Processing with PhotoshopCS3(Curves, Brightness / Contrast, Smart Sharpen, Color Balance, Gradient Map---orange/yellow) via 500px http://j.mp/1kMwdom
